Abstract:

Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common psychiatric childhood disorder, characterized by attention, impaired concentration, hyperactivity, and impulse control. Although there is limited information regarding its aetiology, several holistic treatment approaches, used for a long term, not only provide significant improvement but also affect the course of the disease. Treatment approaches of this disorder, which has increased in pre-school children in recent years, are still being investigated. This problem negatively affects the academic and social life of children. For this reason, students, teachers and families need information and support about recognizing ADHD and managing the process. Often, teachers and families become helpless in the face of behavioral problems of children with ADHD and the long-term negative consequences of increase the importance of studies on this subject.In this article, the possible aetiology of Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder in literature and all treatment methods are addressed in a holistic manner.
