Eğitim Fakültesi Öğrencilerinin Meslek Seçiminde Etkili Olan Faktörler

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı, eğitim fakültesinde yer alan herhangi bir yükseköğretim programına yerleşen öğrencilerin meslek seçimlerinde etkili olan faktörler ve öğrenim gördükleri programdan memnuniyet düzeylerinin ortaya konulmasıdır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinin farklı lisans programlarına yerleşen 424öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verilerinin toplanması amacıyla, araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan, öğrencilerin öğrenim gördükleri programı tercihlerinde etkili olan faktörlere ilişkin soruların ve öğrenim gördükleri programdan memnuniyetlerini belirten bir skalanın yer aldığı anket formu kullanılmıştır. Tercih faktörlerine ilişkin verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistiklerden yararlanılmış ve tercih faktörlerinde cinsiyete göre anlamlı farklılık olup olmadığı ki-kare testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Öğrenim görülen programdan memnuniyet düzeyinde gruplar arası farkların anlamlılığı için bağımsız gruplar t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular sonucunda tercihlerde etkili olan faktörlerin sırasıyla mesleğe olan ilgi, yeteneğine uygun olduğu düşüncesi, cinsiyete uygunluk, sınav puanı, mezun olduktan sonra iş bulma imkanı ve aile faktörleri olduğu görülmektedir. Tercih faktörleri arasında sadece cinsiyete uygunluk faktörüne ilişkin yanıtlarda kız ve erkek öğrenciler arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin öğrenim gördükleri lisans programından memnuniyet düzeylerinde cinsiyet ve öğrenim gördükleri programa göre anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu görülmektedir. Buna göre kız öğrencilerin memnuniyet düzeyleri, erkek öğrencilere göre daha yüksektir Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Programı öğrencilerinin memnuniyet düzeyleri diğer programlarda öğrenim gören öğrencilerden daha yüksektir.

Factors That Influence Students’ Career Choices

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to reveal the factors that influence the career choices of students who are placed in any higher education program in the educational faculty and the levels of satisfaction from the program they study. The research study group consists of 424 students placed in the different bachelor's programs of the Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Education Faculty. For the purpose of collecting the research data, the researchers prepared a survey form containing questions about the factors that influence the preferences of the program they study and a scale indicating their satisfaction with the program they study. In the analysis of the data relating to preferential factors, the image statistics were used and the preferential factors were analyzed by the quarter test whether there were significant differences according to gender. The study has been used to make the meaning of the differences between groups at the level of satisfaction from the program and to test independent groups and one-way variance analysis. The findings obtained from the research show that the factors that influence the preferences are, respectively, interest in the profession, the thought that it suits its ability, gender suitability, exam score, the possibility of finding a job after graduation and family factors. Among the preferential factors, there was a significant difference between girls and boys students in the responses on the only gender suitability factor. Students see a significant difference in their satisfaction levels from the bachelor’s program they study and gender from the program they study. Accordingly, the satisfaction levels of girls are higher than the boys; the satisfaction levels of the students of the Fine Arts Education Program are higher than the students who study in other programs.

Factors Affecting Choice Of Vocation Among Faculty Of Education Students

Abstract:

This study aimed to explore the factors affecting choice of vocation among students attending any of the higher education programs in faculty of education and their level of satisfaction with the program they were attending. The study group of the research was composed of 424 undergraduates who recently enrolled in different undergraduate programs at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Faculty of Education. A questionnaire form was prepared by the researchers to collect research data, and the form involved questions about factors that affected undergraduates’ choice of their programs and a scale aiming to determine their satisfaction with their programs. Descriptive statistics were utilized for analyzing the data on the factors in participants’ choices, and whether factors in participants’ choices differed by gender was analyzed with chi-square test. Independent groups t-test and one-way variance analysis was performed for the significance of differences between the groups in the levels of satisfaction with programs. As indicated by the findings, the factors which had affected participants’ choices were interest in the vocation, the belief that it is suitable for one’s talent, suitability for gender, exam score, opportunity to find job after graduation, and family. A significant difference was only found between female and male students in the responses about the factor of suitability for gender. There were significant differences in participants’ levels of satisfaction with their undergraduate programs by gender and the program. Accordingly, female students’ levels of satisfaction were observed to be higher than the levels of male students whereas the students of Fine Arts Teaching Program had higher satisfaction levels than the students attending other programs.
