Genç işsizliği sorununa çözüm oluşturacak uygun politikaların geliştirilmesi için genç işsizliğine neden olan etkenlerin tespit edilmesi önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’de genç işsizliğine etki eden faktörleri belirlemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 1996-2018 döneminde ekonomik büyüme, ücretli ve maaşlı çalışanların toplam istihdama oranı ile enflasyonun genç işsizliği üzerindeki etkisi ARDL analizi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, kısa dönemde enflasyon ile ücretli ve maaşlı çalışanların toplam istihdama oranında görülen artışın genç işsizliğini azalttığı saptanmıştır. Uzun dönemde ekonomik büyüme ve enflasyonun genç işsizliğini azalttığı, ücretli ve maaşlı çalışanların toplam istihdama oranında görülen artışın ise genç işsizliğini artırdığı tespit edilmiştir.
The aim of this paper is examine effects of economic growth, research and development expenditure, consumer price index, population growth, wage and salaried workers rate to young employment at Turkey 1996-2018 time period. Annual data were used in the study, and ARDL analysis was performed to examine the long and short-term effects together. As a result of the study, it was found that at the long run an increase in economic growth and wage and salaried workers rate decrease youth unemployment however an increase in consumer price index increase youth unemployment. In the short run it was found that there is a negative relation between youth unemployment and consumer price index, population growth, GDP, wage and salaried workers rate. Also, it was seem that there is no statistically significant effect of research and development expenditure on youth unemployment.
