In this research, the metaphors developed bye 4th grade primary school students for the concepts in“I learn my past” unıt is development level of Social Science course were examined. Working group consists of 4th grade 55 students in Cumhuriyet Primary School. Students were taught to develop metaphors in the teaching process . The students were asked for developing metaphors seventy one concepts by completing the sentences such as; "Family, Kinship, Republic, Clothes," concepts "................ like; because ......... ..... ". Metaphors were categorised and analyzed according to the classification . In the study, content analysis technique was used and the data were analyzed with quantitative method. The metaphors, the students developed for the concepts, were analyzed and interpreted considering their gender.
