Abstract:

The most fundamental duty and responsibility of the journalist is to convey the news to the public in an accurate, impartial and objective manner in line with the professional principles of journalism, to make publications with the understanding of public service and to act within the laws drawn for him. There are many laws, laws, regulations, declarations and reports on this subject in the national and international arena. These documents, which have an official nature, include many articles on how to create an unbiased news language, how the journalist can obtain information in the context of the news, how to use this information or not. However, the most important thing among these articles is the transfer of correct information to the public. In this sense, in order for the journalist to reach the right information and convey it to the public, first of all, it is necessary to access various kinds of information. As a matter of fact, journalists' access to information is not simple, because they may encounter great difficulties. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the difficulties faced by journalists in accessing information during the news production process. In line with this goal, interviews were held with 11 journalists working as reporters in newspapers and television. In the study, web-based in-depth interview technique, which is widely used in qualitative research methods, was applied. The journalists participating in the study were contacted via e-mail and open-ended questions were asked through the semi-structured interview form prepared in advance. In the findings, it has been determined that the main source of the difficulties experienced by journalists in accessing information is information pollution in the internet environment, citizens' reluctance to speak, and the lack of access to news sources in private and public institutions. In addition, it has been determined that there are many different kinds of factors like this.
