Trabzon’a bağlı Sürmene kazasının Dirlik köyünde 1931 yılında dünyaya gelen Bahattin Çamurali, çocukluğundaki hevesi nedeniyle, aile bireylerinin isteği ve gayreti ile dönemin büyük ustalarından olan Hüseyin Dilaver’den Kemençe dersleri alarak, daha çocuk yaşlarında kemençe çalmaya başladı. Çocuk olduğu için köy düğünlerinde, kına gecelerinde genellikle kadınlara kemence çalarak sanatını geliştirdi. Kısa süre sonra tüm sürmene köyleri ve çevre ilçelerde aranan bir yerel sanatçı oldu. Hayat çizgisi gurbette devam etti. İstanbul’da düğün ve hemşehri toplantılarında, birçok ünlü sanatçıya eşlik ederek sanat hayatını devam ettirdi. Daha sonra kendi adına plaklar çıkardı. Kemençe sanatçısı olarak radyo ve tv programları yaptı. Yurt dışında ve yurt içinde birçok konser verdi. Birçok folklor ekibine kemençe çalarak sanatını icra etti. 1991 yılında İstanbul’da vefat eden Çamurali’nin mezarı Karacaahmet mezarlığındadır.
Bahattin Çamurali was born in Dirlik, a village in Sürmene, Trabzon, in 1931. He took Lessons from Hussein Dilaver, one of the greatest Lessons players at the time. He was an enthusiastic boy and started playing the game at a very young age. He developed his art by playing cravings to female audiences in the local wedding ceremonies in the countryside, being accepted as a child instrument player at special female entertainment called henna nights. Soon he became a local artist sought in all villages of Surmene and the surrounding districts. His national art career continued in Istanbul, where he accompanied many famous artists playing cement at special ceremonies and organizations in Istanbul. Then he released his first albums on his behalf. He joined radio and TV programs as a performer. He was involved in many national organizations and appeared at many concerts abroad. He performed his art with a wide variety of folk bands. Chamurali died in Istanbul in 1991 and buried in Karacaahmet.
