Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the views of Turkish teachers on the texts in the Turkish classrooms. In the study, the opinion form was used to obtain the opinions of teachers. For the preparation of the form, the expert's opinion was requested and the application was made prior to the application. The data is analyzed by content analysis. According to the research, the opinions of teachers who express their views on Turkish lesson books are more negative. According to teachers who declare positive opinions, the text chosen for the secondary school Turkish curriculum books suits the objectives of the course. According to these teachers, the text chosen in the Turkish curriculum books is on a comprehensive level of four basic skills and language knowledge subjects. The opinions of teachers who report negative opinions are that the texts are too long, that they are not in accordance with the love of the students, that the local differences in the chosen texts are not observed, that the images are not sufficient, that the texts are insufficient in providing the four basic skills, that the language knowledge subjects are ignored, that the activities are too long and that each other is repeated. The teachers who express their opinion on the characteristics of the text to be chosen in the Turkish curriculum books have suggested that the texts should be prepared in accordance with the student levels and local differences, that the texts should be interesting, simple and understandable.
