Sınıf Öğretmeni Adaylarının Konuşma Kaygıları

Ailede kazanılan konuşma becerisinin geliştirilmesinde öğretmenler rol model görevi üstlenmektedirler ve bu nedenle öğretmenlerin doğru, güzel ve etkili bir konuşmaya sahip olması önemlidir. Etkili konuşmanın önemli bir koşulu ise bireyin konuşma kaygısını kontrol edebiliyor olmasıdır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda öğretmen adaylarının konuşma kaygılarının farklı değişkenler doğrultusunda incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gerçekleştirilen bu araştırma genel tarama modeliyle tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2018/2019 Eğitim Öğretim yılında Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Sınıf Öğretmenliği bölümünde öğrenim görmekte olan Sınıf Öğretmeni adayları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Öğretmen Adayları İçin Konuşma Kaygısı Ölçeği” (ÖAKKÖ) kullanılmıştır. 3 alt boyuttan oluşan 40 maddelik ölçek, 310 öğretmen adayı tarafından doldurulmuştur. Verilerin analizinde istatistiksel veri analizi paket programı kullanılmış ve betimsel istatistiklerin yanı sıra değişkenler için Bağımsız Örneklemler t-Testi ve Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (ANOVA) ile veriler çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının konuşma kaygılarının ölçek genelinde ve tüm alt boyutlarında ortanın altında olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının konuşma kaygılarının cinsiyet değişkeni açısından Fizyolojik Belirtiler alt boyutunda anlamlı bir farklılık belirlenmiş ve kadın öğretmen adaylarının kaygı puanı ortalamalarının, erkek öğretmen adaylarına göre daha fazla olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının konuşma kaygıları, sınıf düzeyi değişkenine göre ele alınmış ve 1-2. sınıfta öğrenim görmekte olan öğretmen adaylarının konuşma kaygıları, 3-4. sınıflarda öğrenim görmekte olan öğretmen adaylarına göre daha yüksek çıkmıştır. Araştırmada sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının konuşma kaygı durumlarının başarılı oldukları alan, yetiştikleri yerleşim yeri, ailelerinin ekonomik düzeyi ve anne babalarının öğrenim durumu değişkenlerine göre ise anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği ortaya çıkmıştır.

Candidates For Teachers' Speech Fears

In the development of the speaking skills acquired in the family, teachers take the role model and therefore it is important that teachers have a correct, beautiful and effective speech. An important condition for effective speech is that the individual can control the speech anxiety. In this regard, the objective is to examine teachers' speech concerns according to different variables. This research is designed with a general scan model. The research work group 2018/2019 Education teaching year is formed by the Class Teacher candidates who are studying in the Class Teaching Department of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. In the study, the data collection tool was used as a "speaking anxiety measurement for teachers candidates" (OKKÖ). The scale of 40 sub-dimensions is filled with 310 teachers candidates. In data analysis, the statistical data analysis package program has been used and the data has been analyzed with independent samples for variables as well as visual statistics with the T-Test and One Direction Variance Analysis (ANOVA). The research has found that class teacher candidates’ speech concerns are below the middle in all scales and all subdimensions. The physiological symptoms have determined a significant difference in the lower dimension of the teacher candidates' speech concerns in terms of gender variation and the average concern score of the female teacher candidates is higher than the male teacher candidates. The study also addressed the speaking concerns of the teachers candidates, according to the class level variable, and the speaking concerns of the teachers candidates who are studying in the 1–2 classes were higher than the teachers candidates who are studying in the 3–4 classes. The study found that the speaking concerns of classmates, where they are successful, where they are raised, the economic level of their families, and the educational status of their parents, do not differ significantly.

Teachers are the role models in the development of speaking skills acquired in the family and therefore, it is important that teachers speak correctly, effectively and in a beautiful way. One of the most important requirements of effective speaking is that the individual can control the speaking anxiety. In accordance with this purpose, in order to determine the level of speaking anxiety of prospective teachers and to determine the effects of different variables in terms of speaking anxiety, survey research design was applied in this research. The sample of the study was composed of prospective teachers studying in the Primary School Teaching Department of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University in 2018/2019 Academic Year. “Scale of Speaking Anxiety for Prospective Teachers was used as a data collection instrument. The scale, which consisted of 40 items and 3 dimensions (Physiological Symptoms-Skills Related to Anxiety-Psychological Condition) and the Personal Information Form, which would form the variables, was filled out by 310 volunteer prospective teachers. A statistical data analysis package program was used in the analysis of the data and descriptive statistics as well as independent samples t-Test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used for the analysis of variables. As a result of the research, it was found that the level of speaking anxiety of prospective teachers was lower than middle in terms of total scores of the scale and all dimensions. A significant difference was found in the physiological symptoms dimension in terms of the gender variable of prospective teachers' anxiety and it was concluded that female prospective teachers experience higher speaking anxiety than male prospective teachers. Besides, in the study, the anxiety level of the prospective teachers was discussed in terms of the class level and it was found that 1st and 2nd grade prospective teachers’ speaking anxiety were higher than 3rd and 4th grade prospective teachers. In the study, it was found that the level of speaking anxiety of the prospective primary school teachers did not show a significant difference in terms of the fields they were successful, the place students grew up, the economic level of their parents, and the educational level of their parents.
