Abstract:

The aim of the research is to determine how much cultural transfer is in the textbooks for teaching Turkish as a foreign language. For this purpose, the B1level textbooks of the "Yedi İklim Türkçe Öğrenme Seti" selected as a sample were examined. Teaching the target culture while teaching a language in foreign language education, thus creating an environment for intercultural interaction, is an accepted issue in recent studies in the field. Which aspects of the target culture should be given and how much should be given is a matter of debate among experts working in this field. At this point, the teaching material used in foreign language teaching is important in terms of being a cultural transfer tool. Scanning model was used in the research. As a data collection tool, document analysis techniques from qualitative research designs were used. Document analysis technique was used as a data collection tool. Seven Climate Turkish textbooks were examined at B1 level in the context of cultural transfer. Seven Climate textbooks When advanced textbooks are examined, it can be stated that the concept of family is important. Information on the Turkish family structure is included and the Turkish family structure is indicated with various visuals. One of the most important elements in the transfer of cultural values is social values. Social values provide important information about culture. There are important social values in Turkish culture and these are expected to be transferred to students within the scope of foreign language teaching. Art is one of the building blocks of society. Various artistic activities and activities that each society has provide important information about the society. It is also important to give artistic activities in terms of cultural transfer.
