Abstract:

This study has studied the state of the level of awareness of postgraduate education of university students who are still on the bachelor's programme and the postgraduate education intentions. The research was carried out in the relational scan model. The sample of the study is made by 350 students studying at a state university in Turkey. In the collection of data, the Graduate Education Awareness Scale and Graduate Education Intent Scale were used. In the analysis of the research data, Pearson used the percentage of correlation and structural equality modeling. The findings obtained have shown that awareness of postgraduate education is a meaningful promoter of the intention of postgraduate education. The research results have contributed to the relevant field writing by revealing that increased awareness of postgraduate education has a positive and meaningful impact on the plans and decisions of students who are still undergraduate education to continue postgraduate education. According to this, early interventions based on the awareness of postgraduate education in higher education, information support and consultancy services are expected to increase the participation rates of graduate students in postgraduate education in the future. The results of this research provide the universities with important clues in developing the idea of postgraduate education planning to provide existing graduate students with a conscious awareness and understanding of postgraduate education.
