Tarihî süreçte Türk Toplumunda aile kurumu, her zaman önemini korumuştur. Toplumun sağlam bir yapıyla idame edebilmesi için aile oluşumu her zaman teşvik unsuru olarak karşımıza çıkmıştır. Eşlerden birinin evlilik sonrası geçirdiği herhangi bir kaza, çocuk özlemi gibi bazı hususlarda eş sayısında artış yolu izlense dahi genel itibariyle tek eşlilik Türk aile yapısında egemen olmuştur. Bunun yanında aile içinde çözümlenemeyen bazı sıkıntılar aile bütünlüğünün muhafazasına engel teşkil eden bazı huzursuzlukların zuhurunu da beraberinde getirmiştir. Ailede ortaya çıkan bu türden huzursuzluklar öncelikle bireyler ve toplum nezdinde saygın addedilen bazı kişilerin aracılık faaliyetleriyle çözüme kavuşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Aile kurumunun idamesi bu anlamda her zaman önem arz etmiştir. Çünkü aile, yeni bir neslin en güzel şekilde yetişerek topluma kazandırılması demek olduğundan muhafazası da o denli önem arz etmiştir. Bunun yanında boşanma vakıaları her ne kadar istenmeyen bir mefhum olsa da bazı durumlarda gerekli görülmüştür. Aile bireylerinin fiziksel şiddete maruz olması, eşlerden birinin uzun süre yerleşim yerinde olmaması, rızasız gerçekleşen evlilikler gibi pek çok husus evlilik mefhumunun nihayet bulmasının bazı sebepleridir. Osmanlı toplum yapısı içerisinde de aile yapısının bir şekilde son bulması hadiselerine daha farklı gerekçelerle de rastlanılmakta olup; bu hadiselerde kadınların karşılaştıkları sıkıntılar; devlet ve toplum nezdinde kadın haklarının muhafazası Şer’iyye Sicilleri kapsamında ele alınmıştır.
In the historic process, the family institution in the Turkish society has always retained its importance. The family formation has always come to us as an incentive element to maintain a solid structure of society. Any accident in which one of the spouses has suffered after marriage, even if the number of spouses has increased in some aspects, such as child missing, in general, the single marriage has dominated the Turkish family structure. In addition, some problems that are unresolved within the family have brought with them some discomforts that prevent the preservation of family integrity. This kind of discomfort that arises in the family has been tried to be solved primarily by the mediation activities of individuals and some people who are respected in the community. The death of the family institution has always been of importance in this sense. Because the family has given the greatest importance to the society, it has also given the greatest importance to the family. The divorce case, though unwanted, has been considered necessary in some cases. The fact that family members are subjected to physical violence, the fact that one of the spouses has not been in the place of residence for a long time, the many aspects of unacceptable marriages are some of the reasons why the marriage is finally found. In the Ottoman society structure, the family structure is also found with more different reasons to the events of the end of the family structure; the difficulties that women encounter in these events; the conservation of women's rights in the state and society has been addressed within the scope of the Charity's Registrations.

Such unrest in the family has been tried to be resolved primarily through the mediation activities of some people who are considered respectable in the eyes of individuals and society. The maintenance of the family institution has always been important in this sense. Because the family means bringing a new generation to the society by raising them in the best way possible, so its preservation is of great importance. In addition, although divorce cases are an undesirable concept, in some cases they have been deemed necessary. Many issues such as physical violence by family members, absence of one of the spouses in residence for a long time, marriages without consent are some of the reasons for the end of the concept of marriage. In the Ottoman social structure, the events of the family structure ending somehow are also encountered for different reasons; the difficulties faced by women in these events; The protection of women's rights before the state and society has been handled within the scope of Seriyye Registries.
