Abstract:

In this study, the fourth. The Class Social Information course "People, Places and Environments" aims to show the impact of teaching with non-class educational activities in the learning field on the attitudes of students towards the social information course. The study used a semi-experimental pattern with a pre-test-son-test control group. The study group, going to the selection of the appropriate sample, formed two 4th classes in the 2018-2019 educational year, one of the public schools at the middle socio-economic level (n=33) one of the control group (n=31) and one of the study group (n=31) in the study group. The experimental work lasted six weeks. In this six-week process, the courses in the experiment group are based on non-class educational activities, and in the control group the social information course is processed with the content and activities of the curriculum. The research was developed by Ulu-Kalın and Topkaya (2017) as a data collection tool. The class social information class attitude scale was used. The data analysis was evaluated with the SPSS 23 package program and was performed with visual statistics (arithmetic average, standard deviation), t-test for independent samples, two-way ANOVA for mixed measurements. As a result of the analysis of the data, the social information class of the experiment and control group’s attitude scale first test last test points found a significant difference in favor of the experiment group. According to the results of the study, the attitude levels of students who take the social information course with non-class educational activities, the social information course according to the curriculum and activities, and the control group working the course, have been found significantly higher than the students. As a result, the non-class educational approach has been shown to have a positive impact on students’ attitudes towards the social information course.
