Türkiye’deki ilkokullarda zorunlu okutulan derslerden Beden Eğitimi ve Oyun (BEO) dersinin amaçlarına, öğretim programının etkili bir biçimde uygulanmasıyla ulaşılabilir. Bu araştırmada Beden Eğitimi ve Oyun Öğretim Programının (BEOÖP) nasıl uygulandığının sınıf öğretmenlerinin görüşleri doğrultusunda incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Böylece BEOÖP’ün uygulanabilen ve uygulanamayan yönlerinin neler olduğu, uygulamada karşılaşılan güçlükler ortaya çıkarılmak istenmiştir. Betimsel nitelikteki bu araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden bütüncül-tek durum çalışması olarak desenlenmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını Afyonkarahisar ilindeki ilkokullarda görev yapmakta olan ve çalışmaya gönüllü olarak katılan 20 sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Veriler öğretmenlerden yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin betimsel analizlerinin yapılması sonucunda ulaşılan bulgulara göre programın planlama, uygulama ve değerlendirme boyutlarında uygulanamayan yönler olduğu belirlenmiştir. Katılımcılar okulların fiziki yetersizlikleri, ders araç gereçleri eksikliği gibi nedenlerle BEOÖP’ün planlanmasında ve uygulanmasında sorunlar yaşandığını belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmenler, Matematik dersi başta olmak üzere merkezi sınavlarda sorumlu olunan derslerin zaman zaman BEO dersi yerine yapıldığını, BEO dersine gereken önemin verilmediğini ve BEOÖP’ten yeterince haberdar olmadıklarını dile getirmişlerdir. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda BEOÖP’ün uygulanabilen ve uygulanamayan yönleri tartışılmış ve öneriler getirilmiştir.
The objectives of Physical Education and Play (PEG), one of the compulsory courses in primary schools in Turkey, can be achieved through the effective implementation of the curriculum. This study is aimed to examine how the Physical Education and Game Curriculum (PEGC) is implemented in line with the classroom teachers’ opinions. Thus, some attempts have been taken to reveal the applicable and non-applicable aspects of the PEGC and the difficulties encountered in practice. This descriptive study was designed as a holistic single case study from qualitative research methods. The participants of the study consisted of 20 primary school teachers in Afyonkarahisar province who participated in the study voluntarily. Data were collected from teachers by semi-structured interview technique. According to the findings obtained as a result of the descriptive analysis of the data it has been determined that there are aspects that cannot be applied in the planning, implementation and evaluation dimensions of the PEGC. As participants stated there were problems in the planning and implementation of the PEGC due to reasons such as the physical inadequacies of the schools and the lack of course materials. The teachers stated that the lessons that they are responsible for in the central exams, especially the Mathematics course, are sometimes given instead of the PEG course, that the necessary importance is not given to the PEG course, and that they are not sufficiently aware of the PEGC. Besides the findings obtained in the study the applicable and non-applicable aspects of the PEGC were discussed and suggestions were made.
