Abstract:

This study aims to study whether there is a relationship between teaching and learning understanding of primary mathematical teaching candidates and techno-pedagogical educational skills. The scanning model was used to collect research data. The participants of the study are 179 primary mathematics teaching candidates who study in the educational faculty of 5 different universities in Turkey in the 2015-2016 educational year. The research has used Teaching-Learning Concepts and Technopedagogical Education Qualification Scale to collect data. The teaching-learning understanding scale was developed by Chan and Elliot (2004) and adapted by Aypay (2011) to Turkish. The Technopedagogical Education Qualification Scale was developed by the Kabbalah Country, Odabaşı, Kılıçer, Multilar, First and Kurt (2012). The research has shown that primary mathematics teachers candidates have adopted the structural learning understanding. The research has found that there is no significant difference in the gender of primary mathematics teachers, teaching and learning understanding and techopedagogical educational skills. Primary mathematics teaching candidates have been shown to have a low-level and positive relationship between their techopedagogical educational skills and structural understanding.
