Lise Öğrencilerinin Sosyal Ağları Kullanma Sıklığına Göre Sosyal Ağları Eğitim Amaçlı Kullanmaya Yönelik Tutumlarının İncelenmesi

Sosyal ağların eğitim amaçlı kullanımını inceleyen bu çalışmanın iki amacı vardır. Bu amaçlardan ilki, öğrencilerin sosyal ağların eğitim amaçlı kullanımına yönelik tutumlarını belirlemede kullanılacak bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Diğer amacı ise lise öğrencilerinin, en yaygın olarak kullanılan sosyal ağları kullanma sıklıklarına göre sosyal ağların eğitim amaçlı kullanımlarına yönelik tutumlarını (SAEAKYT) karşılaştırmaktır. Öğrencilerin sosyal ağları kullanma sıklıklarına göre SAEAKYT’ları genel tarama yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmaya 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında Siirt’te 3 farklı okul türünde okuyan 352 öğrenci katılmış ve 21 maddelik 5’li likert tipinde bir ölçek geliştirilmiştir. Ölçek davranış boyutu, bilgi boyutu ve duygu boyutu olarak adlandırılan 3 alt boyuttan oluşmakta ve varyansın yaklaşık %58’ini açıklamaktadır. Ölçeğin Cronbach Alpha katsayısı .93 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile elde edilen uyum indeksleri kabul edilebilir sınırlardadır. Araştırmada Youtube sosyal paylaşım ağını kullanma sıklığına göre öğrencilerin SAEAKYT puanları ortalaması çok kullananların lehine anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı belirlenmiştir. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram ve Whatsapp kullanım sıklığına göre SAEAKYT puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır.

Review of attitudes to use social networks for educational purposes according to the frequency of high school students using social networks

Abstract:

This study, which studies the use of social networks for educational purposes, has two objectives. The first of these objectives is to develop a scale to be used to determine the attitudes of students towards the use of social networks for educational purposes. The other goal is to compare high school students’ attitudes towards social networks for educational purposes (SAEAKYT) according to the frequency of use of social networks most commonly used. According to the frequency of students using social networks, SAEAKYTs have been studied by the general scan method. In the study, 352 students who studied in 3 different types of schools in Siirt in the 2017-2018 educational year and a scale in the likert type of 21 materials 5 was developed. The scale consists of three subdimensions, known as behavior size, information size and emotional size, and describes approximately 58% of the variance. The Cronbach Alpha ratio is .93. The conformity index obtained by verifying factor analysis is within acceptable limits. According to the frequency of use of the YouTube social sharing network, the study found that the student’s average SAEAKYT scores varied significantly in favor of those who use a lot. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Whatsapp use frequency did not make a significant difference between the SAEAKYT score average.

Examining the educational use of social networks, this study has two aims. First, the study aims to develop a scale for identifying students' attitudes towards the educational use of social networks. It also aims to compare students' attitude towards the educational use of social networks (ATEUSN) based on the frequency of the use of most widely used social networks among high school students. The students' ATEUSN based on the frequency of use of certain social networks was assessed through general survey method. 352 students from 3 different schools in Siirt during the 2017-2018 academic year participated in the study and a 5-point Likert type scale with 21 items was developed. The scale consists of 3 sub-dimensions, namely behaviour dimension, knowledge dimension and emotion dimension, and explains 58% of the variance. Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the scale was found as .93. Compliance indices obtained as result of confirmatory factor analysis were within acceptable limits. Based on the usage frequency of the social networking site YouTube, the study found that average ATEUSN scores of the students significantly differ in favour of the students with higher usage rates. However, there was no significant difference between average ATEUSN scores based on the usage frequency of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp
