Abstract:

The aim of this study is to provide detailed information about the dollarization concept, especially in Turkey, to explain the dollarization factors that have increased its impact in recent years and to examine the position of the dollarization of Turkey in the environment that emerged after the 2008 financial economic crisis with details. In the periods of crisis in which uncertainty is increasing in the world economies, the dollarization has become even more interesting with the emergence of financial crises in the global economy. The state of the dollarization can be defined as carrying out financial transactions through foreign currencies that they trust in today’s financial world. As an important factor that causes this situation, the negative impact of inflationist pressure that often arises after financial crises on households. It is a chain-making process that arises with the aim of providing a solution to this situation, the direction of the domestic people to trusted foreign currencies in order to ensure financial stability and, in particular, the determination of prices of imported products directly through foreign currencies. The study will compare the fact of inflation and dollarization and reveal the results of the financial impact of the dollarization on households.
