Abstract:

In this study, it was aimed to examine the authentic leadership levels of school administrators and their perception of social support from the family in terms of various variables. The research data were collected from school administrators working in private / public schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education within the borders of Küçükçekmece district on the European side of Istanbul. Authentic Leadership Scale, Perceived Family Support Scale and Personal Information Form were used in the descriptive research designed in the survey model. The participants of the study consisted of a total of 175 managers, 44 women and 131 men, through easy sampling. As a result of the research, a significant relationship was not found between authentic leadership and perceived social support perception from the Family and the variables of gender, age, working year, management seniority, institutional seniority and educational status. A significant relationship was found between the perception of perceived social support from the family and the gender variable.In the research; It has been revealed that there is a significant difference between female school administrators' perception of social support they receive from their families compared to male school principals. In this case, it can be said that the family support of female managers is higher than male managers.
