Sinema, hem yerellik hem de evrensellik özelliğine sahiptir. Yerel sinemanın sınırları daha dar bir çerçevede gerçekleşirken evrensel sinemanın sınırları küresel düzeydedir. Yani evrensel sinemanın etkisi tüm dünya toplumlarına yönelik olarak gerçekleşmektedir. Evrenselliği içerisinde barındıran sinema, çoğu zaman mesaj aracı olarak kullanılmaktadır. Kimi zaman egemen düşünceyi yayan sinema, kimi zamansa egemen sisteme bir tepki, bir eleştiri şeklinde hayat bulmaktadır. Amacı ne olursa olsun sinemanın bir araç olarak kullanıldığı kabul edilen bir gerçektir. İdeolojik söylemleri yayan sinemanın bu noktada kitleleri yönlendirici görevi aşikâr gözükmektedir. Söz konusu yönlendirme kimi zaman sistemin devamı niteliğinde olabilirken kimi zamansa sistemin eleştirisi şeklinde gerçekleşmektedir. Sinemanın bu rolünden dolayı birçok araştırmacının onun üzerine araştırma yapmasını sağlamıştır. Benjamin Franklin tarafından 18. yüzyılda ilk kez söylenen “vakit nakittir” sözü zamanın aslında para olduğunu anlatmaktadır. Andrew Niccol, Zamana Karşı adlı filminde bu yargıyı izleyicisine başarılı bir şekilde anlatmayı başarmıştır. Kapitalist sistemde olduğu gibi birilerinin kazanması için birilerinin çalışması gerekmektedir. Filmde kapitalizmin ve tüketim toplumunun tüm kaynaklarına değinilmiştir. Paranın zaman olduğu bu filmde sınıfsal farklılıklar net bir şekilde anlatılmıştır. Zengin bireyler, sermayesine sermaye katarken yoksul bireyler ise, kapitalizmin esiri olup yaşam mücadelesi vermektedir. Bu çalışmadaki amaç, Zamana Karşı filmindeki sosyal ve sınıfsal adaletsizlikler, sınıflar arasında ortaya çıkan ideoloji, güç ve iktidar ilişkileri eleştirel söylem çözümlemesi tekniğiyle ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın metodolojisinde nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden eleştirel söylem çözümlemesi kullanılmıştır.
The cinema has both locality and universality characteristics. The boundaries of the local cinema occur in a narrow frame, while the boundaries of the universal cinema are globally. That is, the influence of universal cinema occurs towards all the world’s communities. The cinema in the universality is often used as a means of message. Sometimes the cinema, which has dominant thought, sometimes finds life in the form of a reaction, a criticism, to the dominant system. Whatever the purpose is, it is a thought to be a fact that the cinema is used as a tool. In this point, the ideological speech of the film seems clear to be the leadership of the crowds. This direction can sometimes be in the continuity of the system, while sometimes it occurs in the form of criticism of the system. Due to the role of the film, many researchers have made research on it. Benjamin Franklin first said in the 18th century that “time is cash” describes that time is actually money. Andrew Niccol has succeeded in telling the audience this trial in his film Against Time. As in the capitalist system, someone needs to work to win. The film focuses on all the sources of capitalism and consumer society. In this movie, money is time, class differences are clearly described. The rich individuals add capital to their capital while the poor individuals are prisoners of capitalism and fight for life. The objective of this study is to reveal social and class injustice in the film Against Time, the ideology, power and power relations that arise between classes through the technique of critical speech resolution. The methodology of this study used critical speech analysis from the quality research methods.
