Abstract:

In this research, aims to evaluate the financial performance of medium-sized and large-sized health institutions operating within the human health activities sector, whose data are published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT). Financial ratios calculated with the 2020 financial statements of medium-sized and large-sized health institutions were evaluated with the Gray Relational Analysis (Gray Relation Analysis-GRA) method. As a result of GRA, the financial performance of large-sized health institutions is stronger than medium-sized health institutions; It has been determined that large-sized health institutions are in a better position in terms of liquidity and turnover indicators, and medium-sized health institutions are in better condition in terms of profitability indicators, and both groups are at the same level of efficiency in terms of financial position indicators. In this direction, it is recommended that health institutions operating in the human health activities sector take measures to reduce the use of foreign resources and take initiatives to increase their profitability, medium-sized health institutions increase their liquidity and use their assets more effectively, and large-sized health institutions carry out activities to increase their profitability.
