Abstract:

In this study, the aim is to reveal the levels of sporting according to demographic variables for students who receive and do not receive sports education at the bachelor’s level. The study included a total of 200 university students, including 118 men (59 percent) and 82 women (41 percent), who were easily identified by sample using unselective sampling methods. The data collection tools are Vallerand and Ark. The Multi-Dimensional Sportmenlik Orientation scale, adapted to Turkish by Balçıkanlı (2010) developed by (1997) has been addressed 5 questions to identify the demographic characteristics of the participants. Frequency value tests for the identification of demographic variables in the analysis of data, Mann-Whitney u test was applied. According to the analysis, the Mann-Whitney test found that at all scale and in all sub-dimensions of the scale, the levels of athletics of the female participants were not statistically meaningful compared to the male participants. The Mann-Whitney test also found that at school level at the Faculty of Sports Sciences (SBF)'s level of athletics in both the scale and the subdimensions of the scale was statistically high according to the Higher School of Foreign Languages (YDY). In addition, the Mann-Whitney test, which was conducted between 1st and 3rd classes and 1st and 4th classes, found that the level of athletics of 3rd and 4th classes was statistically meaningful. Sports training at the bachelor level may be considered to have a positive impact on the level of sportiness or centility.
