Hızla gelişen dünyada turizm sektörü, yeniliklere uyum sağlayarak seyahati turistlerin farklı ve özgün bir deneyim yaşayacakları şekilde sunmaktadır. Bu farklılık; ekolojik, kültürel, estetik ve yaratıcılık alanlarını kapsayacak şekilde kendini göstermektedir. Tüm bu alanları içerisinde barındıran sanat, yaşamı ilgilendiren nesne, olay, olgu, mekân ve etkinlikleri şekillendirdiği gibi toplumsal ve ekonomik değişimin bir parçası olmaktadır. Kültürel-sanatsal değerleri ile turistik çekiciliklerini birleştiren destinasyonlar, sanat turizmi sayesinde öne çık- makta ve sanat destinasyonu markasına doğru yol almaktadır. Cumhuriyet Dönemi ile Türkiye, kalkınmasında kültürü-sanatı ön plana çıkarmış ve sosyo-ekonomik gelişimini hızlandırmıştır. Aynı zamanda kültürel-sanatsal değerlerini tanıtarak ve yaşatarak turizmin bu alanında da ilerlemeler sağlamıştır. Çalışmada, Türkiye’de sanat alanındaki gelişmeler ortaya koyulmuş, sanat ve turizm ilişkisi teorik olarak incelenerek sanat turizmi potansiyeli değerlendirilmiştir. Türkiye’de sanatın ve turizmin ülke kalkınması açısından Cumhuriyetin 100. yılında kazandığı önem dikkate alınarak sanat turizminin gelişmesi için çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur.
In the rapidly developing world, the tourism sector adapts to newnesses and offers travel in a way that tourists can enjoy different and unique experiences. This evolution appears in the ecological, cultural, esthetic, and creative fields. As per its content including all those fields, art, not only shapes objects, events, phenomena, places and activities of the life, but also becomes a part of social and economic changes. Destinations which combine their touristic attractions with cultural-artistic values stand out thanks to art tourism and constitute an art destination brand. Türkiye brought culture-art to the fore in its development and accelerated its socio-economic development during the Republic period. At the same time, the country has made progress in the field of tourism by promoting and keeping its cultural-artistic values. The current study reveals emerging matters in the field of art in Türkiye and the potential of art tourism by examining theoretically the relationship between art and tourism. Considering the importance of art and tourism for the development of the country in the 100th anniversary of the Republic, various suggestions were presented for the development of art tourism.
