Abstract:

Political party assemblies are widespread meetings where the issues of the country are discussed, road maps and policies to be followed are determined. The Republican People's Party was the only government party in the country since its establishment on September 9, 1923 until May 14, 1950 when it lost power. The CHP, which plays an important role in determining the process of forming a nationally qualified state, during this period, together with the Sivas Congress (1919) organized a total of eight assemblies, including 1927, 1931, 1935, 1938 (extraordinary), 1939, 1943 and 1946 (extraordinary). The study of the political party assemblies is important in terms of the lighting of the history of economic, political, social change and development. The CHP took a series of measures in 1935 in order to resolve the economic and political problems that Turkey faced and to restore authority in the country. He presented these measures as party principles; he tried to solve problems with the national ideological approaches he developed; he turned the party ideology into the state ideology. In this study, the changes in the ideology, method and staff structure developed by the CHP in the context of preserving andining its power as a single party, were discussed in the framework of the 1935 Council. The developments before and after the Kurultay, the Kurultay documents, mainly the Atatürk diaries, the document-based research works and the press of the period have been evaluated, the party-state integration process has been revealed.
