Abstract:

Bu çalışmada, yüzyılın projesi olarak adlandırılan ve 2005 yılının ortalarında bitirilmesi plânlanan Bakü-Tiflis-Ceyhan (BTC) Ham Petrol Boru Hattı\'nın Türkiye Jeopolitiğine etkileri incelenmektedir. Bu bağlamda petrol-jeopolitik ilişkisi, Hazar Havzası enerji kaynakları ve enerji arzı konuları üzerinde durulmuştur. Ortadoğu\'nun ardından dünyanın ikinci büyük petrol bölgesi olacağı öngörülen Hazar Havzası Azerbaycan, Gürcistan ve Türkiye üzerinden geçirilen 1774 km uzunluğundaki bir boru hattıyla Akdeniz\'e bağlanmaktadır. Açık denizlere kıyısı olmayan Azerbaycan, bu boru hattıyla Rusya Federasyonu\'na bağımlı olmaksızın petrolünü dünya piyasalarına sunma imkânına kavuşmaktadır. The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between oil and geopolitics, the energy sources in Hazar Basin and the security issues of energy supply. Hazar Basin, predicted to be the second largest oil region of the world after the Middle East, is connnected to the Mediterranean with this 1774 km-long pipeline that passes through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. Azerbaijan, with no coast to open sea, will have the opportunity to pour its oil to the world\'s market independent from Russia. Owing to this pipeline, Turkey may improve its relations with Caucasia and Turkish republics as well as increase its potency on the energy sources of the region.
