Abstract:

In this study, the aim is to examine the levels of teacher candidates preparation for teaching according to various variables. The research used by the screening model was carried out with 192 teachers candidates who studied in the fields of science and biology teaching in the 2017-2018 educational year. In the study, the conditions of teacher candidates preparing for the teaching profession were studied in terms of gender, maternity branch, maternity branch preferences, class level, license score average variables. As a data collection tool, the "Made of Preparation for Teaching" was used. The scale is in 4 subfactors, respectively "Active Learning", "Design of the Teaching Process", "Technopedagogical Qualification" and "Scient Understanding" and 5 liquefied types consisting of 20 questions. Questions in scale: 1 = very insufficient, 5 = very sufficient. This study identified the scale reliability as Cronbach’s alpha ratio (α=.92) and the scale-forming effective learning (α=.83), the teaching process design (α=.84), the techno-pedagogical skill (α=.82) and the student understanding (α=.64) . The levels of teacher candidates preparation for the teaching profession, the main discipline of the study, the state of voluntary arrival to the main discipline of the science, the class level and the average grade ratio variables have been statistically significant differences. According to the gender variable, there is no statistically significant difference in the level of preparation of teachers for the teaching profession. In all the subfactors of the scale used in the study, the class level is determined as a variable that makes a meaningful difference.
