Bu araştırmada, beş yıldızlı otellerde çalışan bireylerin kişilik özelliklerinin örgütsel vatandaşlık davranışı (ÖVD) üzerinde nasıl bir etkiye sahip olduğunu belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, Antalya ilinindeki otel çalışanlarını kapsamaktadır. Araştırmada yüz yüze anket yöntemi tercih edilmiş, 397 kişilik veri seti değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde ilk olarak faktör analizi uygulanmış, ölçeklerin geçerlilik ve güvenirliği belirlenmiştir. Faktör analizinin ardından araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara yer verilmiştir. Bu bulgulara göre; dışa dönük kişilik özelliğinin ÖVD'nın vicdanlılık, sivil erdem, nezaket ve özgecilik boyutları ile pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı ilişkisinin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kişilik özelliklerinden uyumluluğun ise tüm ÖVD boyutları ile anlamlı ilişkisinin olduğu görülmüştür. Duygusal denge ise centilmenlik ve sivil erdem boyutları ile negatif yönde anlamlı ilişkiye sahiptir. Öz disiplin ve gelişime açıklık boyutlarının ÖVD ile ilişkisi incelendiğinde; öz disiplin kişilik özelliğinin tüm ÖVD boyutları ile anlamlı ilişkisininin olduğu, gelişime açıklık kişilik özelliğinin vicdanlılık, sivil erdem, nezaket ve özgecilikle ilişkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma hipotezlerini test etmek amacıyla regresyon analizleri uygulanmıştır. Bu analizlerden elde edilen bulgulara göre dışa dönüklüğün sivil erdem ve nezaket boyutu üzerinde etkili olduğu görülürken, uyumluluğun nezaket boyutu haricindeki tüm ÖVD boyutları üzerinde anlamlı etkisinin olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca duygusal denge boyutunun ÖVD'nın sadece centilmenlik ve özgecilik boyutu üzerinde anlamlı etkisinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Öz disiplin ve gelişime açıklık boyutlarının ÖVD'na etkisine yönelik regresyon analizi sonuçları incelendiğinde ise öz disiplin kişilik özelliğinin ÖVD'nin tüm boyutları üzerinde etkisinin olduğu, gelişime açıklığın vicdanlılık, sivil erdem ve özgecilik boyutları üzerinde anlamlı etkiye sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlar dikkate alındığında beş yıldızlı otel çalışanlarının sahip olduğu kişilik özelliklerinin ÖVD sergileme düzeyinde etkili olduğu görülmektedir. Dolayısıyla bu araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulguların konu ile ilgili literatüre ve otel işletmeleri üzerine yapılacak olan diğer çalışmalara katkı sağlayacağı nitelik taşıdığı düşünülmektedir.
This study aims to determine how the personality characteristics of individuals working in five-star hotels have an impact on organizational citizenship behavior. The research covers the hotel staff in Antalya. In the study, the face-to-face survey method was preferred, a data set of 397 people was taken to evaluate. In the assessment of the data, the first factor analysis was applied, the validity and reliability of the scales were determined. Following the analysis of the factor, the findings obtained from the research were listed. According to these findings, the characteristic of external personality has been determined to have a positive and meaningful relationship with the dimensions of conscience, civil virtue, kindness and personality of the OVD. The personality characteristics of conformity have a significant relationship with all the dimensions of the OVD. The emotional balance has a meaningful relationship with the dimensions of citizenship and civil virtue in a negative direction. When the relationship of self-discipline and open dimensions to development is studied with the OVD; the characteristic of self-discipline personality has a meaningful relationship with all the dimensions of the OVD, the characteristic of self-discipline open to development has a relationship with consciousness, civic virtue, kindness and personality. Regression analyses have been applied to test the research hypotheses. The findings obtained from these analyses show that external orientation has an impact on the civic virtue and kindness dimensions, while the conformity has a significant impact on all the dimensions of the OVD except the kindness dimensions. It is also found that the emotional balance size has a meaningful impact on the OVD only on the centilmeness and personality size. When examined the results of the regression analysis on the influence of self-discipline and development transparency dimensions on the OVD, it was determined that self-discipline personality characteristics have an influence on all dimensions of the OVD, that development transparency has a significant influence on the dimensions of consciousness, civil virtue and personality. Having these results taken into account, the personality characteristics that five-star hotel employees have appeared to be effective at the OVD exhibition level. Therefore, it is believed that the findings obtained from this research will contribute to the subject-related literature and other work on hotel enterprises.
