Abstract:

Thro the story, the promotion of people with different functions to the reader takes place through a series of techniques. In a work, the person's element is not only described in a stable manner by the picture, but also puts place to actions and movements, allowing the characters to be presented more vividly. In Sâmiha Ayverdi's novels, because the personality change of the persons is an important place, the writer makes a separate attention to the presentation of the person. The writer is not only a type, but also very successful in creating characters. When characterizing their personalities, they take advantage of both modern and traditional techniques. In his novels, not only the external image of the persons is depicted, but also the detailed psychological presentation is made. For this, the presentation of the spiritual structure includes modern techniques such as internal monologue, internal resolution, conscious flow. In the novel of Sâmiha Ayverdi, which is the subject of our work, the techniques applied in the presentation of the persons, by giving examples from the work, were attempted to reveal characterization.
