Bu çalışmada, Van ili ekonomisinin üstünlükleri ve zayıflıkları yanı sıra tehditleri ve fırsatları SWOT (GZFT) analizi ile ortaya konulmuştur. SWOT matrisinden hareketle içsel ve dışsal analizler yapılmış, strateji oluşturmak için TOWS Matrisi geliştirilmiştir. SWOT Analizi ile belirlenen güçlü, zayıf yönler ile fırsat ve tehditlere ilişkin toplamda 12 konu ve TOWS matrisinden hareketle belirlenen 5 strateji için Analitik Hiyerarşi Süreci (AHS) modeli kurulmuştur. Sayısal bulgulara dayanarak güçlü ve zayıf yönlere dikkat çekilmiş ve ilin ekonomik gelişimine yönelik alternatif stratejiler sunulmuştur. Böylelikle Van ili ekonomisinin değerlendirilmesinin rasyonel şekilde yapılmasına çalışılmıştır. Hayvancılık ve iyi tarıma dayalı sanayi yatırım stratejilerinin geliştirilmesi, Van’ın önemli dış pazarlara yakın olması nedeniyle bu pazarlara açılma stratejilerinin geliştirilmesi temel stratejilerine önem verilerek etkinleştirilmesi gerektiği belirlenmiştir. Van ili için bu tür bir çalışmanın ilk kez yapılmasının yanı sıra, mevcut ve potansiyel koşulların gözden geçirilerek çözüm önerilerinin sunulması bu çalışmanın orijinal yönleri olarak değerlendirilebilir.
In this study, the advantages and weaknesses of the Van's economy as well as threats and opportunities are revealed by SWOT (GZFT) analysis. TOWS Matrix has been developed for internal and external analyses from the SWOT matrix to create a strategy. The SWOT analysis has established an analytical hierarchy process (AHS) model for a total of 12 topics related to strong, weak, opportunities and threats and 5 strategies defined by the TOWS matrix. Based on numerical findings, the strong and weak aspects were attracted and alternative strategies for the economic development of the province were presented. This is the reason for the rational assessment of the economy. The development of livestock and good agriculture-based industrial investment strategies has been determined that Van is close to important foreign markets and the development of open-source strategies to these markets should be activated by focusing on the core strategies. In addition to the first time such a study was carried out for the Van Valley, the presentation of solutions by reviewing existing and potential conditions can be considered as the original aspects of this study.
