Abstract:

Hafız Bekir Sıdkı Sezgin is one of the most prominent artists of Turkish music in performance and manner in the Republican Period. He has been accepted as a school with his non-religious music style and attitude, and also as a unique performer in religious music. At the same time, he is a person who became a bridge between Ottoman music culture and today with his art and performance. In the first part of this article, which was prepared with the methods of literature review and personal interviews, information will be given about Bekir Sıdkı Sezgin's family and life, education and official duties. In the second part, Bekir Sıdkı Sezgin's art and academic aspects are discussed. In this section, Bekir Sıdkı Sezgin's artistic view, his place and performance in Turkish music, his note calligraphy, Kök Magazine published by him, the artists he worked with, his records, cassettes and albums are discussed. In the last part, there is a list of compositions, general information about his compositions and a list of his compositions. In order to set an example for Bekir Sıdkı Sezgin's composition and note calligraphy, the notes of some of his works will also be shared in this section. This study aims to deal with the life, art and compositions of Bekir Sıdkı Sezgin, who is considered a school with her performance and artistic stance in our music culture in the Republican Period, with a holistic approach.
