Abstract:

Nowadays, with the globalization of production and trade, transportation policies are facing us as the key element of ensuring economic growth and increasing competitiveness. The fact that the international business department has global prosperity enhancing effects, encourages states to cooperate internationally and monitor policies that facilitate international mobility. While the transport policies are examined by the general framework, the state of the various transport systems in the form of road, rail and sea and air should also be analyzed. The effectiveness and efficiency of the EU transport policy, which plays an important role in the economic and political integration of the Member States, is one of the main factors of the dramatic growth of goods trade in Europe. In foreign trade, Turkey, the fifth largest trade partner of the EU, has its largest trade partnership with the EU. In this study, the steps that Turkey has taken in the Transport Policy in recent years will be assessed in the context of international transport policies and the EU’s Turkey Progress Report.

The global welfare-enhancing effects of the international division of labor have prompted governments to pursue international co-operation and policies that facilitate international mobility. While the transport policies are examined in general terms, the status of the different transport systems in the form of road, rail, sea and air must also be analyzed. The effectiveness and efficiency of the EU transport policy, which plays an important role for the economic and political integration of the Member States, is one of the main factors for the enormous growth in commodity trade in Europe. In foreign trade, the EU’s fifth largest trade partner is Turkey and Turkey has its largest trade with the EU. In this study, the steps taken in the Transport Policy in Turkey in recent years will be reviewed in the context of international transport policies and the EU’s Turkey Progress Reports.
