Abstract:

The tourism industry is also a diverse industry, which has a major role in the economy, employment and the introduction of a country’s cultural and attractive centers to the world. One of the many kinds of tourism that develops today is cultural tourism. Iran is a country with a wide variety of cultures and history. It was one of the wealthiest countries in the world, in the oldest periods of civilization and culture history and even before history. By establishing a relationship between culture and tourism, this treasure can be converted into a good resource to attract domestic and foreign tourists. The ancient culture of Iran consists of many elements. The national traditions and traditions, literary and mythological characteristics, include the Iranian architecture, ethnic diversity, religious Islamic religion and various religions. This variation and diversity seen in Iran’s culture and civilization can be transformed into a valuable and attractive asset for the country in terms of tourism, with appropriate planning and management. Due to its cultural potential, Iran has a high tourism potential. In this study, the role and importance of cultural tourism in Iran was tried to explore in detail. To the purpose of the study, literature scan method was carried out using the existing resources, statistics and information.
