Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türk ve yabancı üniversite öğrencilerinin internet bağımlılık düzeylerini değerlendirmek ve aynı zamanda internet bağımlılığı ile sosyal görünüş kaygısı arasındaki ilişkiyi tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, İstanbul il sınırları içinde bulunan çeşitli devlet ve vakıf üniversitelerinde öğrenim gören 53 hazırlık, 264 lisans ve 105 lisansüstü olmak üzere 258 Türk ve 164 yabancı toplam 422 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Karşılaştırma yoluyla ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılan bu çalışmada, İnternet Bağımlılığı Ölçeği ve Sosyal Görünüş Kaygısı Ölçeği kullanılarak demografik sorularla birlikte İstanbul ilinde öğrenim gören Türk ve yabancı öğrenciler değerlendirilmiştir.İlk olarak, Türk ve yabancı üniversite öğrencilerinin internet bağımlılığı düzeyleri Bağımsız Örneklem T-Testi ile incelenmiştir. İkinci olarak, internet bağımlılığı ve sosyal görünüş kaygısı arasındaki ilişkiregresyon analizi ile araştırılmıştır.Araştırmada elde edilen veriler incelendiğinde, Türk ve yabancı üniversite öğrencilerin internet bağımlılıkları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılıkolduğu bulunmuştur. Yabancı üniversite öğrencilerinin internet bağımlılığı Türk üniversite öğrencilerinden daha yüksek çıkmıştır. Regresyon analizinin sonucunda, sosyal görünüş kaygısı arttıkça, internet bağımlılığının azaldığı saptanmıştır.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the levels of internet addiction of Turkish and foreign university students and at the same time to identify the relationship between internet addiction and social appearance anxiety. The examples of the study consist of 258 Turkish and 164 foreign students, including 53 preparatory, 264 undergraduate and 105 postgraduate students, studying in various state and foundation universities located within the border of Istanbul. In this study used the relative scanning model through comparison, Turkish and foreign students who studied in the province of Istanbul with demographic questions using the Internet Addiction Scale and the Social Outlook Anxiety Scale were evaluated. First, the Internet addiction levels of Turkish and foreign university students were studied with the Independent Example T-Test. Secondly, it was studied by the analysis of the relationship between internet addiction and social appearance anxiety.When the data obtained in the study were studied, the Turkish and foreign university students found that there was a statistically significant difference between internet addictions. The internet addiction of foreign university students is higher than Turkish university students. Regression analysis found that as social appearance anxiety increases, the internet addiction decreases.

Firstly,the internet addiction levelsofTurkishand foreign university students have been assessedby Independent Sample T- Test. Secondly the relationship between internet addiction and social appearance anxiety has been examined by using regression analysis.As a result of this study, it has been found that there is statistically a meaningful difference between Turks and foreign university students’ internet addiction.The internet addiction of foreign university students is more than Turkish university students. As a result of regression analysis, as social appearance anxiety increase has been identified that internet addiction decrease.
