Abstract:

1878-1912 yılları, Berlin Antlaşmasıyla kurulan yeni dengelerin oturtulmaya çalışıldığı, yeni sınırların çizildiği, Girit 'te süregelen Rum isyanlarının Balkanlar 'da bir Türk- Yunan savaşına yol açtığı dönemdir. Bu şartlar altında, Girit Adası 'nda Müslüman Türklere karşı uygulanan siyasi, iktisadi ve sosyal baskılar ile Anadolu 'ya doğru bir göçmen akını başlamıştır. Bu çalışma ile 1897- 1912 yılları arasında Tarsus'a göçmenlerin nasıl yerleştirildiği sorusuna cevap aramaktır.
