Çağdaş uluslararası güvenlik çalışmaları, 20.yüzyılın sonları itibariyle pek çok güvenlik ekolünün ortaya koyduğu yeni tartışmalara tanıklık etmiştir. Genişleme yoluyla güvenlik konularının, derinleşme yoluyla ise aktör çeşitliliğinin artması sonrasında disiplinlerarası çalışmalar yeni bir trend olarak disiplin içinde yer edinmiştir. Ontolojik Güvenlik Çalışmaları, güvenlik literatürünün zenginleşmeye başladığı bu dönemde Psikoloji ve Sosyoloji Disiplinlerinden beslenerek Uluslararası İlişkiler Disiplini içinde varlığını artırmıştır. Literatür incelemesi çerçevesinde şekillenen bu çalışma, betimleyici/tanımlayıcı bir metot benimseyerek ilgili teoriye ilişkin çekirdek kavramları ve kavramlara ilişkin farklı yaklaşımları ortaya koymayı hedeflemektedir.
Contemporary international security studies have witnessed the new discussions that many security officers have revealed since the end of the 20th century. Through the expansion of security issues, and through the deepening of the diversity of actors, interdisciplinary studies have come into the discipline as a new trend. Ontological Security Studies have increased its existence in the Discipline of International Relations by feeding on psychology and sociology disciplines in this period when security literature began to enrich. This study, formed in the framework of the literature study, aims to identify the core concepts and different approaches to the theory related by adopting an illustrative/identificative method.
