Abstract:

The world’s population increases every day, climate changes have a negative impact on agriculture and cause food problems. In addition to food problems, the increasing urban population also creates many socio-cultural, ecological and economic problems. Urban agriculture is an important productive land use to solve urban problems and food problems, combining urban and agricultural concepts. This productive land use provides important functions to the sustainable development of cities by making a positive contribution to the social, ecological, economic, health and visual system of cities. In this study, the conceptual environment of urban agriculture is addressed and the concept, history, typologies, functions, obstacles and risks of urban agriculture are studied.
