1915 tarihinde muharebenin nasıl bir şekil alacağı hala belirsizdi. Faysal daha sonraları yaptığı bir söyleşide başkent İstanbul'daki bu durumu şu şekilde anlatmıştır;İstanbul'a vardığımda Çanakkale'ye saldırı ertesinde durumu çok kargaşa içinde gördüm. Herkes benden derhal Arabistan'a dönmemi ve İmparatorluğu maceraları sürükleyen bu vahim durumlar hususunda babamı uyarmamı istediler. Türkler o esnada arşivlerini ve önemli devletle ilgili değerlerini Anadolu'ya taşımaktaydılar. Böyle olunca müfritlere (milliyetçi Arap taleplerini savunanlar) katılmaya ve bir an önce babam Şerif Hüseyin'e Arabistan'a kurtarmasında yardım etmek için İstanbul'dan Mekke'ye dönmeye karar verdim.
It was still unclear how the war was going to take the form in 1915. In a later speech, Faysal told the situation in the capital of Istanbul in this way; when I arrived in Istanbul, after the attack on Çanakkale, I saw the situation very confusing. Everyone asked me to return to Arabia immediately and warn my father about these horrible circumstances that drive the Empire adventures. The Turks were transferring their archives and important values to Anadolu at that time. When that happened, I decided to go back from Istanbul to Mecca to join the Mufrits (those who defend national Arab demands) and immediately help my father Sheriff Hussein to rescue Arabia.
It was still unclear what shape the battle would take in 1915. In an interview he made later, Faysal described this situation in the capital Istanbul as follows; Everyone asked me to return to Arabia immediately and warn my father of these dire circumstances that were driving the adventures of the Empire. At that time, the Turks were carrying their archives and important state-related values to Anatolia. As such, I decided to join the extremists (who were advocating nationalist Arab demands) and return to Mecca from Istanbul as soon as possible to help my father, Sharif Hussein, save Arabia.
