Abstract:

People's beliefs preserve their validity, their status of belief, despite all the reasonable concepts and solutions offered by science and technology. One of the beliefs around which many beliefs and rituals are formed from generation to generation is the belief of Alkarah. In different regions of our country, this terrible appearance of creature that is eating the lungs of women and newborn children known by different names has been known in the Turkish system of belief for its negative side with the time derived from a good good center of Ulu Ana/Umay. This woman in the center of the anaerculate structure has become the symbolic value of birth, reproduction, reproduction – not only for humans, but also for animals – and has influenced the system of beliefs, thus perceived as a goddess, an angel. Thro history, the need for refuge to the strength, good and good of mankind has always existed mythological beings. Kurt/Bozkurt, Umay, Ulu Ana, Hızır will be more concrete when assessed in this axis the need for refuge to the good of the Turkish people.
