Abstract:

Uninterrupted operations in manufacturing enterprises depend on the ability of the equipment work in smooth implementation. Therefore, maintenance activities should be managed within the objectives of production enterprises. Effective management of equipment maintenance has a direct impact on business performance. On the other hand, maintenance operations include cost-requiring activities and the cost dimension is taken into directly account by the enterprises unless benefit cost analysis is done correctly. However, unavoidable costs are seen dominantly when the crucial problems caused by inadequate maintenance are revealed. This study focuses on total maintenance costs for efficient management of equipment. The maintenance activities of a firm are analyzed and the total maintenance costs model is applied for cases caused by insufficient maintenance.
