Abstract:

According to the perceptions of teachers, this research was done to determine whether the team leadership skills of school managers differ significantly according to the gender, education level, school type, branch, professional age, and variables of teachers. The examples of the study consist of 210 teachers who work in primary, secondary and high school in the Kahramanmaraş province of Göksun in the 2015-2016 educational year and were randomly selected. The data was collected through scale. The data collection tool consists of two sections. The first part of the scale included the section where the demographic information developed by the researcher was asked. In the second part, the Team Leadership Scale was used for 20 materials developed by Çankaya and Karakuş (2008) and 3 sub-dimensions. For this study, the scale of Cronbach Alpha was calculated as .96 and it was considered to be quite reliable. The SPSS 23 statistical package program was used for the analysis of data. Parametric tests used T-test and one-way variance analysis, and non-parametric tests used cross-wallis test. The research results show that the teacher’s opinion on team leadership skills by school managers is partly agreeing. When the team leadership skills levels of school managers are studied according to the perceptions of teachers; the teachers have seen significant differences according to the gender, age and school type variables, no significant differences according to the level of education and branch variables.
