Abstract:

This study aims to study the characters in the texts in the Turkish curricula of high school students according to the various variables of the role modeling conditions. The work group of the research done using the scanning method of Nicel research patterns consists of 356 high school students. The appropriate sample method for the choice of these students has been applied. The study used the "Role-Model Acceptance Scale of Heroes in Literary Works" developed by Erol and Kaya (2022) as a data collection tool. The data collection process of the research was carried out through the "Google Forms" online survey application. In the data analysis of the study, it was found that the data were not normal in terms of normal assumptions and that accordingly, the Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskall Wallis H test were analyzed. According to the results obtained from the study, the high school students have found that the character in the narrative texts in the Turkish curriculum books are high levels of role modeling conditions and that they produce meaningful results according to the variable of daily TV viewing frequency, gender, mother learning status, father learning status, book reading frequency, video viewing on the internet or web browsing frequency variables, and that they do not produce meaningful results according to the variables.
