20. yüzyılın çağdaş sanat temsilcilerinden Antoni Tàpies eserlerini taşist ve soyut dışavurumcu etkilerin görüldüğü biçimsel arayışlar ve deneysel pratiklerle oluşturmaktadır. Sanatçının, tuval zemini üzerinde oluşturduğu eserlerinin yanı sıra geniş malzeme ve nesnelerle bir araya getirdiği enstalasyonlarında ise Art Povera izleriyle karşılaşılmaktadır.Sanatçı anlatım biçimi ve ifade şeklini bütünleyen, farklı disiplinler aracılığıyla güncel işler sunmaktadır. Daha lirik ve dürtüsel fırça kullanımıyla dikkat çeken Antoni Tapies soyut kompozisyonlarında imge ve sembollere yer vermektedir. Sanatçının eserlerinde sadeleşmiş formlar, tek rengin geçişleri, sıçratmalar, kalın boya dokuları sıkça karşılaştığımız öğelerdir. Araştırmada sanatçının eserlerinde gözlemlenen eser oluşturma biçimleri, bu ifade biçimlerinin birbirleri arasındaki ilişkiler, renk ve biçimlerin farklı varyasyonlarının etkileri, sanatçının eser örnekleri üzerinden değerlendirilecektir.
