Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to study the values of the 4th grade human rights, citizenship and democracy curriculum in the context of the Social Information Course Curriculum. In this study, designed in the framework of the Qualitative Research Approach, the document review method has been used. The data source of the study 2016-2017 educational year is the 4th class Primary School Human Rights, Citizenship and Democracy curriculum. In the analysis of data, the content analysis method was used. According to the research, the Social Information Course Teaching Program has included all the values aimed at giving students, and the most of them are the values of freedom, justice, responsibility, and respect. The least given values are determined in the form of attention to family unity, hospitality, independence. In the human rights, citizenship and democracy curriculum, different topics have been determined in addition to the values included in the Social Information Curriculum according to the course structure. According to the frequency of use in the curriculum, these topics are: equality, human rights, the importance of compliance with the rules, consensus, attention to cultural objects, democracy, empathy, courage.
