Abstract:

Mobile technologies and mobile applications can now be used for educational purposes. On the other hand, practical applications and recommendations for the use of these technologies in educational environments are still among the needs of today's educators. In this study, a mobile application, capable of working on IOS, Android and Windows mobile platforms, was developed using a real-time database. The study investigated how an undergraduate web design training can be supported by a mobile learning implementation and the effects of the implementation on students' attitudes toward mobile learning. The study was conducted with 82 undergraduate students, enrolled in Web Design course at Gazi University. The mobile application developed within the scope of the study has many features to support the web design learning of the students. It also has the ability to apply short exercises and to provide extracurricular student – instructor interaction. The results of the study showed that students were satisfied with the mobile learning environment. In addition, students had a positive view that the implementation had a positive effect on their learning. It can also be said that the mobile learning environment was effective in motivating the students in this sense.
