Abstract:

This study discussed the basic concepts and eye-movement parameters included in the reading research carried out with eye monitoring technique. For this purpose, the eye movements displayed during reading are described, the vision area associated with reading, the areas of this vision area and the severity of the areas of this vision area are identified and the information on the eye-movement parameters is included. Also, the research has been discussed in which the reading skills are studied with the eye monitoring technique. In general, the eye monitoring technique and the eye movement data achieved during reading appears to make the nature of the reading process and skills better understood. It is also emphasized the importance of the need to monitor in determining the reading performance of typical and atypical readers. As a result, the view that traditional reading research is brought to a new dimension through real physiological data obtained by observation of the methods and techniques.
