Bu araştırmanın amacı, Fırat Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü Eğitim Yönetimi alanında tezsiz yüksek lisans yapan öğretmenlerin okul yöneticiliğini tercih etme/etmeme nedenlerini belirlemektir. Araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemleri arasında yer alan olgu bilim deseninde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2022-2023 eğitim öğretim yılında Elazığ ilindeki okul öncesi, ilkokul, ortaokul ve liselerde görev yapan 33 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, öğretmenlerin yönetici olmayı isteme nedenlerinde en fazla, yöneticiliğe yeni bir bakış açısı getirmek görüşünün ifade edildiği belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte öğretmenlerin olmayı hedefledikleri yönetici ile ilgili en fazla, etkili iletişim kuran yönetici görüşünün ifade edildiği saptanırken; yönetici olduklarında oluşturmayı planladıkları çalışma ortamı ile ilgili en fazla, etkili iletişimin olduğu bir çalışma ortamı görüşünün ifade edildiği belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin yönetici olmak istememelerinde en fazla, iş yükünün fazla olması görüşünün ifade edildiği tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak bu bulgulara dayalı olarak çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
The purpose of this research is to determine the reasons why teachers who have a thesis-free master's degree in the field of education management of the Fırat University Institute of Education Sciences prefer/refer to school management. The research has been carried out in the fact scientific pattern that is included among the quality research methods. The study’s work group consists of 33 teachers working in pre-school, primary, secondary and high school in the Elazığ province in the educational year 2022-2023. The research data was obtained through a semi-configured interview form. In the analysis of the data obtained, the content analysis method was used. According to the research results, the most reason why teachers want to be managers has been determined to bring a new perspective to the management. However, the teachers are determined to be the most effective, communicating management opinion about the manager they intend to be; when they are the managers, the work environment that they intend to create is the most effective, communicating work environment opinion is expressed. When teachers don’t want to be managers, it is found that the opinion is expressed that the workload is excessive. As a result, various recommendations were made based on these findings.
