TRA1 Türkiye’deki 26 düzey-2 bölgesinden biri olup Bayburt, Erzincan ve Erzurum illerini kapsamaktadır. TRA1 düzey-2 bölgesinde günümüz 1 milyon 75 bin kişilik bir nüfus bulunmakta ve bu nüfus Türkiye nüfusunun %1,3’üne denk gelmektedir. Bu çalışmada 2007-2020 döneminde bölgede nüfusun gelişimi ve demografik yapının değişimi incelenmiştir. TRA1 düzey-2 bölgesinde 13 yıllık sürede doğal artışa rağmen nüfus azalmıştır. Şüphesiz bu durumun nedeni bölge illerinde özellikle de en büyük nüfuslu il olan Erzurum’da, net göç hızının sürekli eksi değerler almasıdır. 2007 ile 2020 yılları arasında TRA1 bölgesinde toplam doğurganlık hızı ve ham doğum oranı azalmış, buna bağlı olarak çocuk nüfusun toplam nüfus içindeki payı azalmıştır. Aynı süreçte çalışma çağındaki nüfus ile yaşlı nüfusun toplam nüfus içindeki payı ise artmıştır. Bölgede 2007’de %30,1 olan çocuk nüfus oranı 2020’de %23,6’ya düşmüş aynı süreçte çalışma çağındaki nüfus oranı %62,5’ten %66,2’ye, yaşlı nüfus oranı ise %7,4’ten %10,1’e çıkmıştır. Nüfusun yaş kompozisyonunun değişmesine bağlı olarak 13 yıllık süreçte TRA1 düzey-2 bölgesinde nüfusun toplam bağımlılık oranı ve genç bağımlılık oranı azalmıştır. Aynı süreçte yaşlı bağımlılık oranı ise artmıştır. TRA1 düzey-2 bölgesinde 2007’de %60 olan toplam bağımlılık oranı 2020’de %51’e inmiş aynı süreçte genç bağımlılık oranı %48’den %36’ya inmiş yaşlı bağımlılık oranı ise %12’den %15’e çıkmıştır. TRA1 düzey-2 bölgesinde demografik yapı illere göre farklılık göstermektedir. Erzurum yüksek çocuk nüfus ve bağımlılık oranı ile dikkat çekerken Bayburt ve Erzincan illeri ise düşük çocuk nüfus oranı ve yüksek olan yaşlı nüfus oranı ile dikkat çekmektedir.
TRA1 is one of the 26 level-2 regions in Turkey and covers Bayburt, Erzincan and Erzurum. The TRA1 level 2 region currently has a population of 1 million 75 thousand people, which equals 1.3 per cent of the population of Turkey. This study examined the development of the population in the region and the demographic structure of the region in the period 2007-2020. Despite the natural growth in the TRA1 level 2 region over the course of 13 years, the population has decreased. Without a doubt, the reason for this situation is that in the region provinces, especially in the largest population province of Erzurum, the net immigration rate is constantly low. Between 2007 and 2020, the total fertility rate and raw birth rates in the TRA1 region decreased, resulting in a decrease in the share of the child population in the total population. In the same process, the proportion of the population in the working age and the elderly population in the total population has increased. The percentage of children in the region, which was 30.1 per cent in 2007, fell to 23.6 per cent in 2020 and the percentage of children in the working age increased from 62.5 per cent to 66.2 per cent, while the percentage of elderly population increased from 7.4 per cent to 10.1 per cent. Due to the change in the population’s age composition, the total dependency rate and youth dependency rate in the TRA1 level-2 region have decreased over the course of 13 years. In the same period, the rate of age dependency has increased. The total addiction rate in the TRA1 level 2 region, which was 60% in 2007, fell to 51% in 2020, and the youth addiction rate fell from 48% to 36% in the same process, while the age addiction rate rose from 12% to 15%. The demographic structure in the TRA1 level 2 region differs according to those. Erzurum attracts attention with the high child population and dependence rate while Bayburt and Erzincan are attracted with the low child population rate and the high age population rate.
