İslâm’ın Klasik Çağında Felsefe Tasavvuru adlı eserde, temel olarak İslâm filozoflarının felsefe dendiğinde ne anladıklarını tespit etmek ve tesirleri günümüze kadar ulaşabilen muazzam felsefi birikimlerini ortaya koyarken, onların bu entelektüel çabalarının arkasındaki zihniyet dünyasını incelemek amaçlanmaktadır. Aynı zamanda, satırlar arasında "İslâm felsefe paradigmasının evrensellik, süreklilik, özgünlük, ilmîlik ve meşruiyet gereklerini ne ölçüde karşıladığı" sorusuna cevap aranmaktadır. Son yıllarda İslâm felsefe geleneğinde, İslâm filozoflarının ''ne'' söylediği üzerinde odaklaşarak tasnif ve terkip yapan çalışmaların aksine bu eser, onların ''neden'' söylediğine inerek mütemeyyiz bir bakış açısı sunan özgün bir araştırma teşkil etmekte ve felsefe geleneğine istikamet veren yönlendirici fikirleri belirleyen büyük resmi ortaya koymaktadır. Tüm bu sebeplerden ötürü bu eser, gerek İslâm felsefesi gerekse de genel olarak İslâm entelektüel geleneği ile ilgili literatürde, günümüzde hala varlığını sürdüren önemli bir boşluğu doldurmaya yönelik bir katkı olarak ehemmiyet arz etmektedir.
In the work entitled Philosophy Tasavvuru in the Classical Age of Islam, it is essentially intended to identify what the Islamic philosophers understand when it is called philosophy and to reveal their enormous philosophical accumulations that can reach to the present day, while it is intended to study the mental world behind these intellectual efforts. At the same time, among the lines, the question is asked “in how much the paradigm of Islamic philosophy meets the requirements of universality, continuity, originality, scientificity and legitimacy.” In recent years in the Islamic philosophy tradition, this work, unlike the studies that the Islamic philosophers are focusing on “what” they say, is a original research that offers a clear view of what they say “why” and shows a great image that determines the guiding ideas that stand up to the philosophy tradition. For all these reasons, this work, whether it is necessary for the Islamic philosophy or for the literature of the Islamic intellectual tradition in general, is a contribution to filling an important emptiness that still exists today.
