Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine primary and secondary school teachers’ opinions about organizational identification and cynicism and also to determine whether organizational identification is a predictor of organizational cynicism. The study is designed in correlational survey model. The sample of the study consisted of 636 primary and secondary school teachers working in the city center of Bolu province. The data was collected using ‘Organizational Idenfication Scale’ and ‘Organizational Cynicism Scale’. In the data analysis, mean, standard deviation, correlation and regression analyses were performed. According to the obtained research results, the teachers’ organizational identification levels are within the range of “I agree”, while their organizational cynicism levels are within the range of “I don’t agree”. It was found that there was a negative significant moderate relationship between the teachers’ organizational identification and cynicism scores. It was determined that the teachers’ organizational identification levels predict their organizational cynicism levels significantly at the level of 10,4 %.
