Her toplumun kendine has değerleriyle varlığını sürdürdüğü, pek çok toplumda olduğu gibi Türk toplumu için de bu değerlerin en önemlisinin aile değerleri olduğu söylenebilir. Televizyon aracılığıyla dayatılan haz ve özgürlük odaklı bireysel hayat biçimlerinin, başta aile olmak üzere toplumsal değerlere etkileri tartışma konusu olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, popüler kültür unsurlarını kullanan dizilerin içeriklerinde sunulan/kurgulanan Türk aile yapısındaki değişimin yansımaları incelenmektedir. Kültürel göstergeler kuramı bağlamında, televizyonun aile değerleri üzerinde ortak bir kültürün yerleşmesine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla, son dönem dizisi “Yasak Elma” üzerinden ailenin dizilerdeki kurgusal dönüşümü ayrıntılı bir biçimde analiz edilmiştir. Dizi içeriklerinde meydana gelen değişimler, özellikle toplumun en önemli değeri olan aile üzerinden yansıtılmaktadır. Geçmişte dizilerde reyting amaçlı olarak hayret uyandıran ilişkiler ve olaylar, günümüzde insanlar tarafından sıradan bir durum gibi karşılanmaktadır. Ayrıca daha çok reyting uğruna aile içi çatışmalar, entrika ve şiddet gibi unsurlar dizi karakterleri üzerinden aktarılmakta ve toplumda normalleştirilmektedir. Televizyon yayıncılığının başlangıcında mahalle kültürünü yansıtan dizilerin yerini yeni medya ortamında rekabetin de etkisiyle popülerlik ve modernlik bağlamında özdeşleşme kurulan yeni diziler almıştır. Televizyon dizilerinde yansıtılan geleneksel aile yapısı üzerindeki dönüşümün, popüler kültür unsurlarının yer aldığı “Yasak Elma” dizisi üzerinden incelendiği bu çalışmada içerik çözümlemesi yönteminden yararlanılmıştır.
Each society continues its existence with its unique values, and it can be said that for the Turkish society the most important among these values is the family. Individual lifestyles focusing on pleasure and freedom, imposed by the television, have turned into a topic of discussion because of their effects on societal values, especially the family values.In this study, repercussions of the transformation of Turkish family structure that was presented in the TV series which use elements of popular culture were investigated. To determine the effect of television on establishing a common culture on family values, the fictional transformation of family in TV series was analyzed thoroughly over the current TV series named “Yasak Elma, using the Cultural Indicators Theory. The changes in the contents of TV series are projected over family, society’s most important value. Relationships and events that surprised and schocked people in the past, were seen as ordinary situations nowadays. Also, the factors such as the conflicts within the family, intrigues, and violence were conveyed over the television series’ characters and normalized in society. In the new media environment, new TV series replace the old TV series, which had projected the neighborhood culture. Audiences identify with these new series within the context of popularity and modernity. This study used content analysis for investigating the transformation of traditional family structure reflected in the television series over the “Yasak Elma” series containing the elements of popular culture.
