İletişim, küreselleşmenin getirdiği yeni dünya düzeninde birçok alanda önemli hale gelmiştir. Böylece dünyada koşulan dilleri bilen insanlara olan ihtiyaç artırmıştır. Bu olgu her yaştan insanı yabancı dil öğrenmeye teşvik etmektedir. Bu nedenle yabancı dil öğretimini kısa sürede etkili bir şekilde gerçekleştirmek amacıyla çeşitli yöntemler geliştirilmekte ve farklı teknolojiler kullanılmaktadır. Avrupa Birliği başta olmak üzere birçok uluslararası kurum her seviyedeki dil yeterliliklerini belirlemeye yönelik “tanımlama” çalışmaları yapmaktadır. Bu çalışmaların amacı ortak dil referans çerçevesi oluşturarak, yabancı dil yeterliliklerinde uluslararası standartlar oluşturmaktır. Öğretim kaynakları ve yöntemlerinde bu standartların dikkate alınması yabancı dil öğretimini bilimsel temellere dayalı etkin bir faaliyet haline getirmektedir. Aynı zamanda öğretim faaliyetinin ana unsuru olan öğrencinin yabancı dil öğrenimine karşı bireysel tutumu, öğretimin başarıya ulaşmasında büyük etkiye sahiptir. Özellikle yetişkin öğrencilerde sınıf ortamı ve yabancı dilin özellikleriyle ilgili oluşacak psikolojik tutum, öğrencinin dil becerilerini kazanmasıyla doğrudan ilişkilidir. Bu makalede Kara Kuvvetleri Lisan Okulu’nda 32 hafta süreyle kurs gören yetişkin öğrencilerin yabancı dil olarak Arapça öğrenirken yaşadıkları kaygı durumlarını tespit etmek üzere 27 soruluk anket uygulanmıştır. Anketin amacı Arapça öğretim sürecinin her aşamasında yetişkin öğrencilerin yaşadıkları kaygı durumları ve bunların dil becerilerinin geliştirilmesine etkilerini (olumlu-olumsuz) ortaya çıkarmaktır. Anketten elde edilen verilerin içerik analizi yöntemiyle incelenmesi yapılarak, yetişkin öğrencilerin yaşadığı kaygı durumu ve Arapça öğrenimlerine etki derecesi tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapılan analiz çalışmasında farklı dil becerilerine karşı öğrencilerin kaygı duyumları ile ilgili değerlendirmeler yapılmış ve Arapça öğreniminde yetişkin öğrencilerin yaşadığı kaygıların giderilmesine yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.

Communication has become important in many areas in the new world order that globalization brings. It has increased the need for people who know the languages run in the world. This phenomenon encourages people of all ages to learn a foreign language. Therefore, a variety of methods are developed and different technologies are used to effectively implement foreign language teaching in a short time. Many international institutions, mainly the European Union, are conducting “identification” work to determine their language skills at all levels. The objective of these studies is to establish international standards in foreign language skills by creating a common language reference framework. The consideration of these standards in teaching resources and methods makes foreign language teaching an effective activity based on scientific foundations. The individual attitude of the student to foreign language learning, which is also the main element of teaching activity, has a great impact on the achievement of teaching success. In particular, the psychological attitude that will be formed in the classroom environment and the characteristics of the foreign language is directly related to the student’s acquisition of language skills. In this article, 27 question surveys were implemented to identify the anxiety situations of adult students studying Arabic as a foreign language during the 32-week course at the Armed Forces Lisan School. The purpose of the survey is to reveal the anxiety situations that adult students experience in each stage of the Arabic teaching process and their effects on the development of their language skills (positive and negative). By examining the data obtained from the survey through the content analysis method, it was attempted to identify the anxiety situation experienced by adult students and the degree of impact on Arabic learning. The analysis study was conducted with an assessment of the students’ concerns about their different language skills and presented recommendations to address the concerns experienced by adult students in Arabic learning.

The aim of these studies is to create international standards in foreign language proficiency by establishing a common language reference framework. Taking into consideration these standards in teaching materials and methods makes foreign language teaching an effective activity based on a scientific basis. At the same time, the individual attitude of the student towards foreign language learning, which is the main element of the teaching activity, has a great impact on the success of teaching. Especially the psychological attitude of the adult students towards the classroom environment and the characteristics of the foreign language are directly related to student’s gaining of language skills. In this article, its possible to see 27 question surveys that were conducted to determine the anxiety experienced by adult students studying Arabic as a foreign language at the Land Forces Language School for 32 weeks. The aim of the survey is to reveal the anxiety situation experienced by adult students at every stage of the Arabic teaching process and its effects on the development of their languages skills (positive-negative). By examining the data obtained from the survey by the method of content analysis, it was attempted to determine the anxiety situation experienced by adult students and the degree of impact on their Arabic learning. In the study analysis, determinations about the anxiety situations of students against different languages skills and recommendations to address the concerns experienced by adult students in Arabic learning were made.
