Abstract:

This study aims to reveal the bibliometric profile of graduate theses on tourist guidance. In the framework of the research, the postgraduate theses registered at the National Thesis Center of the Higher Education Board of the President have been studied bibliometrically. In the fields of the thesis name, summary, subject and directory, the scan of the words "tourist guide", "tourist guide" and "tourist guide" has determined that there are 94 postgraduate theses written between 1989 and 2018. The study found that the number of postgraduate theses on tourist guidance has increased, parallel to the development of postgraduate education in tourism and tourist guidance, since 2010. In total, 28 different universities have written a postgraduate thesis on tourist guidance. The doctoral theses have been determined to be completed primarily by the Professor-titled, the master theses have been completed in the consultation of the doctors-titled doctors. It has been found that most of the postgraduate theses are carried out with quantitative research methods, mainly data collected from tourist guides with survey technique. The study is important because the topic of tourist guidance will reveal the intensity and development of the work and will provide a comprehensive assessment to the past.
